With the SCT X4 PDB (7015) Programmer for Ford, you can use the tuner as a handheld device, meaning you plug it in to your vehicle's OBD-II port, download the performance tune you want, clear codes, adjust for oversized tires and so forth, then unplug the tuner and stick it in your glove box. The performance tune you selected and downloaded will continue working as expected. If you want to use the SCT X4 7015 as a gauge monitor so you can keep an eye on your ride's temperatures and performance, you can also leave it plugged in all the time, allowing you to view different engine parameters while driving.
